I was delighted to present a seminar on financial freedom in retirement at the Australian Unity Victoria Grange facility in Vermont South on March 28, 2023, which was hosted by Chloe Turko from Australian Unity Victoria Grange.
The seminar, titled Financial Freedom in Retirement: Maximising Government Entitlements, Superannuation, and Latest Changes, aimed to help residents of the retirement village make the most of their finances. We covered a range of topics, including the latest changes to Centrelink, the Commonwealth Seniors Health Card, and the recent budget changes, including changes to superannuation. We also discussed retirement village funding for those who may need to move into residential aged care.
It was a pleasure to see so many residents from the retirement village attend the seminar, as well as staff members from other Australian Unity sites. Megan Thripp from Australian Unity Campbell Place in Glen Waverley, Merryn Donellan from Australian Unity Rathdowne Place in Carlton, and Joanne from Australian Unity Peninsula Grange and Racecourse Grange in Mornington Peninsula were all present at the event.
My presentation was well-received, and I enjoyed sharing my expertise and insights into financial planning for retirement. Attendees gained valuable information on how to maximise government entitlements and superannuation to secure their financial freedom during retirement. I also provided them with a better understanding of the recent budget changes and how they may impact their finances.

With their numerous retirement living facilities across Australia, they are making it easier for retirees to live a comfortable and secure life.
